Plain answers

The questions people lie awake with

Don’t see yours? Call any office and ask.

Money

How much does it cost?

The first conversation is free. If we take your case, we are paid a share of what we recover, set out in writing before you sign. Case costs are explained in the same agreement, including whether you owe them if nothing is recovered.

Who pays my medical bills while the claim is open?

Usually your health insurance, or your own auto policy if it has medical payments coverage. We’ll tell you what applies and how to keep collectors at bay.

I can’t work. How do I cover rent?

Start by keeping records of every day missed. Then call us. Sometimes there are benefits you can use now, and we’ll plan around the months, not just the end result.

Claim

Will the insurance company try to settle early?

Often. A quick offer can look generous when you’re worried about bills. We’ll tell you what it leaves out.

What if I was partly at fault?

It doesn’t always end a claim, but states handle shared fault very differently. Tell us what happened and we’ll explain how it works where you live.

How long will this take?

Some claims wrap up in months. Serious injuries take longer, because we wait to see how you recover before we ask for a number.

Is there a deadline?

Yes. It varies by state and by who is involved, and a few are short. If you’re unsure, call this week.

Family

What happens to my kids’ routines while I recover?

That’s a fair question to ask a lawyer. We can’t drive them to school, but we can help make sure costs like childcare and help at home are counted.

Can you come to me?

Yes. We can meet at home, in the hospital, or by video.

Still turning it over?

Ask a person. The call costs nothing.

Talking with us costs nothing. If we take your case, the fee and any case costs are explained in writing before you sign.
